I felt no difference between myself and the pagan woman; she was youthful, pretty, and open-minded. Nov. 21, 1976 – Clemson scrimmaged at an adjacent field and warmed up there until game time before a 28-9 upset of South Carolina. Nov. 1, 1969 – Frank Howard won his last game as a Clemson coach in Death Valley with a 40-0 win over Maryland.

Oct. 7, 2006 – Gaines Adams returned a botched field-goal attempt 66 yards for a touchdown to lead a fourth-quarter comeback in a win at Wake Forest. Clemson trailed 17-3 in the fourth quarter before Adams’ play, which was one of the top-four Game-Changing plays in college football in 2006. It marked just the third time in school history that the Tigers overcame a deficit of 14 points or more in the fourth quarter to gain victory. Wake Forest would go on to win the ACC Championship.
